I know you've probably heard it a million times before, but protecting your skin from the harmful rays of the sun is crucial! UV rays can increase the rate of developing wrinkles, burn skin and ultimately result in skin cancer. All three scenarios can be prevented when precautions are taken. The best way to prevent sun damage in any way is to ALWAYS apply sunscreen [especially to your face]. When you're having fun in the sun, don't let yourself forget that sun protection is essential to your health!
Some say that there's "no such thing as a healthy tan" but a little vitamin D isn't going to kill you! It's healthy to be outside in the sun, and your skin needs sunlight. But when basking in the sun, sunscreen is your best friend. Without it, your skin is going to develop sun spots, sun damage and when burnt, your skin cells will start to take a hit. After years of not wearing sunscreen and countless sun burns, this is when melanoma starts to develop. It can develop anywhere on the body, so make sure you apply sun block to all of your exposed skin.
Did somebody say wrinkles? Yes. Wrinkles aren't supposed to appear until later in life, but if you aren't putting sun screen on your face, they're going to come knocking on your door a lot sooner. It's proven that excessive sun exposer will in fact create wrinkles such as smile lines/frown lines, forehead wrinkles and wrinkles on the sides of the eyes. It's a lot easier to take a couple minutes out of your day to apply sun screen to your face then to deal with these wrinkles a lot sooner than necessary.
Don't be oblivious to the outcomes of too much sun. It's not only harmful to your appearance, but [again] you will increase your chances of developing melanoma. Externally and internally, overexposure to the sun is extremely harmful! Wear sun screen, be safe and be sun conscious.
If you don't have your health, you don't have anything!
xx, ZM
