This is something Bostonians have never seen before.. Fashion's Night Out! On September 8th, 2011, The City of Boston will mobilize thousands of retailers to stay open late for a night of fashion, fun and events. FNO was started in 2009 by VOGUE Magazine, CFDA, NYC & CO and the City of New York, as a way to restore consumer confidence during the recession. And now the event has come to Boston! As a worldwide event, we will be celebrating the kick off of the fashion season. Cities all over the world will come together globally to celebrate style.
The shopping holiday has The Hub's stores and restaurants in preparation for Thursday night. Kicking off in 2008 because of the poor economy, it was Vogue editor, Anna Wintour's idea to have stores launch promotions to get people out and buy. It was a successful and historical night that has set an annual tradition for cities around the globe.
And FNO Boston (mention on twitter at #FNOboston to get it trending) will be having some great fashion shows and parties September 8. Copley Place will be having a fashion show starting at 6:30 and the stores will be having special promotions from 6:00 to 8:00 ONLY. In Tiffany & Co. at Copley place and the Natick Collection mall, there will be a "Studio 57", 1960s and 70s inspired party with a DJ, drinks and appetizers, Andy Warhol inspired picture booths and the release of the Tiffany Era Collection.
