Falalalala.. Fashion Faux Pas

   'Tis the season for ugly Christmas sweaters, hideous red dresses and a whole lot of fashion faux pas. Looking to avoid these scenarios? Well you're in the right place. "A Christmas party is not a costume party unless the invitation says dress like an elf or Mrs. Claus," Clinton Kelly, co-host of TLC's "What Not To Wear" and author of "Oh No She Didn't".

   With the help of Stylelist and Clinton Kelly, I've conjured up a list of what NOT to do this December. And it goes a little like this:

1.) Say NO To the Christmas Sweater.

2.) Stay Warm, It's Winter For God's Sake.

3.) If You've Decided To Wear An LBD, Work It.

4.) Jingling Jewelry Is A Cardinal Sin.

5.) Red And Green Is Cute.. On a Christmas Tree

   

   Backing up my opinion on sequins, Clinton Kelly explains that, "Bright Christmas-y red and bright Christmas-y green -- is just a little bit too obvious, a little too cliché. If you want to look more sophisticated, it's probably a better idea to look for richer colors; things like jewel tones are great, deeper burgundies, anything in the wine family is nice, merlot, that kind of thing. Especially be careful of wearing red and green together."

  So please, please keep it simple this Christmas. Unless you're off to a sweater party, BURN YOUR CHRISTMAS SWEATER. Simple patterns on a red sweater won't hurt, but don't take it too far. Wacky traditions are okay, but keep it inside your household. After all, what would Christmas be without the sweaters?
